My name is Kaitlyn Ayres and I am originally from Portland, OR. I graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Cultural Anthropology. Prior to attending Eleven Fifty Academy, I graduated and decided to teach 1st grade overseas for three years in the country of Bahrain. This was a great way for me to travel and start a career I was potentially interested in. After three years, I started to feel stuck and wanted to change careers because I felt the growth wasn't very vast in the educational field.
In February of 2017 I moved back to the United States with my husband, whom I met in Bahrain since he was stationed there in the United States Navy and lived in Bremerton, WA prior to his medical separation from the Navy. In September of 2018 we moved to Indiana and I found Eleven Fifty at a job fair. After meeting the amazing admissions team at the job fair, I felt this was something I wanted to pursue. The coding field provides an exponential amount of growth and also provides a challenge which is what I strive for. Now I am here as a student and am loving every bit of it. I can't wait to see what is in store after graduation!
